CAP Aim
Trainees completing RACP's Advanced Training in Nuclear Medicine are required to complete the Continuous Assessment Program - two written assignments and one oral assessment task - in years 1 and 2 of their Core Training.
This assessment aims to develop a trainee’s ability to evaluate medical literature to synthesize an opinion based on this evaluation, to develop skills in written expression, and to develop the Trainee’s ability to interpret a nuclear medicine scan and to place the scan findings in a clinical context in order to arrive at a diagnosis and/or to assist in patient management.
CAP Details
- Registration: Registration has now closed
- Written Assignment 1 Due: Monday 5th May 2025 (question released first week of April 2025)
- Oral Assessment Task (OAT): Held Mon 18th or Tue 19th Aug 2025
- Written Assignment 2 Due: Monday 15th Sept 2025 (question released first week of April 2025)

This course contains past CAP written assignment questions and their best essay responses, as well as past OAT cases. Trainees are encouraged to use these as study practice and to discuss them with their supervisors.
